Edward Lee Baker

Edward Lee Baker, 70 , of Rocky Mount VA, formerly of Raysal, WV, Went to be with his Savior on September 8 ,2008. There to greet Him were his parents Robert Lee and Maude Baker, His infant son Steven Ray and son Daniel Cephas; infant sister Virginia; and brothers Harold and Cowan Baker. He was also reunited with many more loved ones and friends. In the early 70’s Ed pastured the Church of the Living God in Garland, WV and served on the Board for the District. He was most happy and proud to have formed the Gospel Singing Baker Family of Yukon, WV. He enjoyed singing with his family at many numerous revivals and benefit singings. Also one of his favorite past time was Coon Hunting and he enjoyed doing this with Zac, his brothers and friends. Left to cherish his memories are Doris June Smith Baker of whom he was married to for 52 years this past May; His sons and their spouses, Bradley Lee and Lori Baker of Glade Hill, Brian and Joyce Baker of Penhook, Zac Toney of the home; His daughters and their spouses, Danita and Joe Sheets of Boones Mill, Dianne and Bobby Whitt , Rocky Mount, Beverly and Joe Rutter of Rocky Mount, Devinna Toney of Roanoke , Kim and Don Armstrong of Penhook; His loving Grandchildren are Jenny Sheets Taylor (Chris), Sarah Sheets Scott, Candice Whitt Fagg, (Brian), Ashley Rutter , Bradley Baker, Brandie Baker, Joseph Sheets, Robert Whitt, Joshua Whitt , Brandon Armstrong and Erica Baker. He was a great grandfather to 4 great grandchildren: Audrey Sprangler, Gabriel Scott, Josiah Rutter and Miracle Scott. His surviving sisters are Ruby Hall ,Indiana. Yvonne Hamilton of Lindside WV, and his brothers, Daris Baker of Raysal WV, Bobby Baker of Bluewell WV, Gerald Baker and Michael Baker of Lindside, WV He will be greatly missed by all. Funeral services will be conducted from Rocky Mount Church of God 2 p.m. Thursday, September 11, 2008 with Pastor Travis Gore and Rev. Charles Rose officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. The family would like to thank Pastor Travis Gore, Dr. Robert Strong, and Carilion Hospice of Franklin County for their love and support during our loved ones illness. A very special thank you to Dr. Lindsay Sherrard for her compassion shown to our Father. May God richly bless you all.
