Edward Green "Porter" Wagoner, age 67 of Ferrum passed away Sunday, August 17, 2014. He was born October 15, 1946 the first son of Floyd and Glendola Nichols Wagoner. Ed was a loving caring son, brother, husband and father.
  
  
  Ed was an avid outdoorsman and loved to travel, buy, sell and trade. He never met a stranger and was well liked by most everyone. If you knew him, you have heard "he can sell anything". He was the owner of Walker?s Grocery on Old Forge Road for many years. He also established and owned Pigg River Trophy Trout where he enjoyed stocking trout for fishermen like himself. He attended Evangelistic House of Prayer where he played bass guitar and was a church trustee. He loved his church family deeply.
  
  
  Preceding him in death were his father, Floyd Wagoner; special grandmothers, Siller Boyd Wagoner and Victoria Bowling; aunts and uncles.
  
  
  Ed is survived by his wife Diann; son Sam, daughter- in-law, Leah; mother Glendola Midkiff, step-father Richard Midkiff; brothers, Leon, Cedric (Deborah), Thurman (Thanhha); sister, Audrey Scott (Anthony) plus aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many cherished friends.
  
  
  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 20, 2014, at Evangelistic House of Prayer, Rambling Rose Rd, Ferrum, Va. Rev. Bud Nichols will officiate. Interment will follow in Endicott Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the American Cancer Society.
  
  
  His family will receive friends 6:00 ? 8:00 p.m. Tuesday August 19, 2014 at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
