Edwin Rivas

Edwin Rivas, age 51 of Union Hall passed away in his home Thursday, March 20, 2025. He is survived by his beloved wife, Valerie Rivas; her children, Chrystal Casson of Roanoke, Brandon Casson of Union Hall; his son, Edwin Rivas, Jr., of Wilm. DE; parents, Carlos R. Rivas and Lydia Vasquez, Wilm, DE; grandchildren, Kassen Henry De’Andra Rivas, Jeremiah Rivas, Ronan and Nioh Hunter, Neveah Rivas; siblings, Ralphi Vasques, VA, Carlos Rivera, Wilm. DE, Carmen Rivas, FL, Glady Morales, Wilm. DE, Felipe Nieves Wilm, DE, Julio Rivera, West Grove, PA, Luis Rivera, Wilm, DE and Zenaida Rivera, VA, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Edwin attended Wilmington High School in Delaware. He was an auto mechanic and a handyman. He loved the outdoors, fishing, salsa dancing with his wife, attending Faith Fellowship church and bible study, car shows, helping people, Puerto Rican food and music. He also loved watching the “birds” as in the Eagles football games. Funeral services will be held at Flora Funeral Chapel, 12 noon Thursday, March 27, 2025. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family will accept donations towards expenses (265 Dillards Hill Rd, Union Hall, VA 24176).
