Edwina Francis Mink

Edwina Francis Mink, age 91 of Rocky Mount went to meet her Savior on Tuesday, January 28, 2014. Her quiet life was spent caring for her husband, two children, and four grandchildren, sewing, quilting, visiting the sick, and showing gracious hospitality to all who came to her door. She loved her family, her friends, and the Lord Jesus Christ, serving Him faithfully all of her long life. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Newton Bostick Mink; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Gorman; two sisters; and one brother. Surviving are her two children, Stephen R. Mink of Rocky Mount, Cindy L. Bandy of Fincastle; her four grandchildren, Catherine and Ryan Mink of Rocky Mount, Joshua Bandy of Fincastle, and Rachel Bandy Witt of Roanoke; and her two great-grandchildren, Addison and Cole Bandy. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 11 a.m. Friday with Dr. Gerald Stiles officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alethia Springs Christian Education Center, 731 Pernello Road, Ferrum, VA 24088 or International Christian Center for the Deaf, P.O. Box 540, Cloverdale, VA 24077. Her family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
