Eleanor Bowen Childers

Eleanor (Ellie) B. Childers, 74 of Fairfax, VA residing in Penhook, VA passed away Sunday, September 21, 2014. Ellie taught for 30 years for Fairfax County Public Schools, was an avid bridge player and world traveler, but most of all was a loving wife and mother. She cherished her family and friends and put a spark into the lives of all she touched. She and her husband, Clark, have been members of the Water?s Edge Community since 2000: a community that has helped her thru her illness for the last six years with prayers and support. She is survived by her husband, Clark Childers; her three children and their spouses, Jann and Joe Cassady, Brad and Catherine Hoopes, and Tim and Michele Hoopes; and her eight grandchildren, Brandon, Keegan, Cameron, Zachary, Meredith, Blake, Christian and Hunter. She was preceded in death by her sister, Phyllis Ridgeway of Kinsley, PA. On October 4, 2014 there will be a remembrance at 1:00 P.M. in the Parish Hall of Trinity Episcopal Church in Rocky Mount, VA followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. with The Rev.
