Elise F. Knowles

Elise F. Knowles, age 86 of Boones Mill passed away Saturday evening January 7, 2012. She was born in Roanoke, Va. December 27, 1925, daughter of the late Clyde and Elizabeth Forman, Sr.. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, John and William Forman. Mrs. Knowles was an active member of the Red Valley United Methodist Church. She enjoyed loving her family and sharing her gift of cooking with others. Surviving are her husband of 65 years Fred Knowles; two sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Kathy Knowles, Lee and Charlotte Knowles; daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Tom Knowles- Bagwell; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Red Valley United Methodist Church with Rev. Josh King officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to Red Valley United Methodist Church. Her family will receive friends 3-5 pm Tuesday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
