Elizabeth Goggin Craddock

Elizabeth Goggin Craddock, age 94 of Callaway passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2010. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elisha and Florence Goggin; brother, Chapman Goggin; and sister, Georgie Nunn. Elizabeth taught school in Franklin County for many years. She was a member of Rocky Mount United Methodist Church and a founding member of the Upsilon Chapter of the Alpha Delta Kappa Teachers Sorority. Surviving are her daughter, Ruth Cook and son-in-law, Sam Cook of Callaway; grandsons, Sam Cook and wife Sonya of Carlisle, PA and Matt Cook and wife Andrea of South Charleston, W.Va.; and great-grandchildren, Maeve, Claire, Ridge, Vince and Andres. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel at 11 a.m. Friday with Dr. John A. Plummer and Rev. DeRoy Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. Special thanks is extended to her caregivers, Emma, Elizabeth, and Cathy. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Callaway Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 44, Callaway, Virginia 24067. Her family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
