Elizabeth (Beth) W. Hodges, 60 of Rocky Mount, VA, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, October 26, 2016. Beth is preceded in death by her grandparents, Paul Wilkins, Sadie Wilkins, Dan Edgar Williams, and Louise Williams; her father, Rev. Dan Williams; her brother, Danny Williams; father-in-law, Bernard W. Hodges; and nephew, Alan Dwayne Mason. She is survived by her husband and life friend, Buddy Gene Hodges. Beth is also survived her loving mother, Margaret Williams; sister-in-law, Terre Williams; her mother-in-law, Annie Marie Hodges; brothers and sisters-in-law, Alan and Nancy Mason, Donald and Elizabeth Lazenby; nieces, Tina Steele Buchanan, Amy Belcher and husband Jeff; nephews, Josh Lazenby and wife Denise, Aaron Mason and wife Meghan; great-nieces, Carly Ness and husband Allen, Kaela Mason, and Candace Lazenby; nephews, Ethan Steele and wife Shannon, Trevor Belcher, Kyler Mason, and Rylen Mason; and a great-great-niece, Ava Ness; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Beth was born on December 8th, 1955 in Halifax County, VA and graduated from Franklin County High School in 1974. She spent most of her life in the Rocky Mount and Roanoke area. Beth was employed by Southern States Farm Cooperative for 38 years, where she enjoyed working with fellow employees and customers. She was an accomplished pianist and vocalist who enjoyed using those talents to praise her Lord and bless others. She and her husband Buddy were blessed with a wonderful marriage for 40 years. Beth loved all animals and provided a home and love to many stray and abandoned dogs and cats. The family will receive friends and relatives at Flora Funeral Home Friday night October 28th from 6-8 p.m. Funeral Services will take place on Saturday, October 29 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethlehem United Methodist Church with interment following at the Hodges Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Bethlehem United Methodist Church, the SPCA, or your favorite charity.
