Elizabeth “Ann” Lovell Holley, 67, of Rocky Mount passed away Thursday, August 18, 2011 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial. She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, James R. Holley; and parents, Tommy and Nervie Lovell. Ann leaves to cherish her memory three children and their spouses, Rebecca Dillon and husband, Arnold, Joseph Holley and wife, Janet, and Regina Clark and husband, Jerry, all of Rocky Mount; three granddaughters, Ashley, Alexis and Angelina Dillon, also of Rocky Mount. She is also survived by sister, Mary Prillaman and husband, Sammy; and brother, James Lovell and wife, Grace, all of Henry; a special aunt, Myrtle Ramsey of Front Royal; niece and nephews and their spouses, Carol & Tim Bussey, Darin & Dawn Prillaman and daughters Samantha and Serena, and Jimmy & Kathy Lovell and children, J.B., Nicholas, and Dakota. She will also be sadly missed by her “grandfurs.”
Ann served as the secretary of Rocky Mount Christian Church for 34 years and gave 22 years of dedicated service to the Franklin County Band Boosters, touching the lives of thousands of band students. She will be remembered by generations of Franklin County High School sports spectators for the delicious homemade chili she prepared and served at the concession stand. Along with being an excellent cook, Ann was a talented seamstress and enjoyed traveling. She was of the Primitive Baptist Faith.

The funeral will be held at Town Creek Primitive Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 21 with Elder Larry Hollandsworth and Rev. Matthew Ricks officiating. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 20 with the family receiving friends from 5 to 8 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, S. Main Street, Rocky Mount and other times at the home of Regina and Jerry Clark.
