Elizabeth Hodges Overstreet

Elizabeth Hodges Overstreet, age 90 of Rocky Mount died Monday, December 17, 2012. She was born July 7, 1922 and was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Jefferson and Lucy Ida Chitwood Hodges; husband, Everett “Bob” Overstreet; brothers and sisters, William Hodges, Eunice Altis, Rachel Via, Edgar Hodges, Clyde Hodges, and John Lee Hodges. Surviving are brothers and sisters, Loretta Prillaman, Dorothy Walker of Rocky Mount, Margie Freeman of Hurt, Nadine King of Ohio, Junior J. Hodges of Rocky Mount, Walter Hodges of Danville, Jackie Hodges of New Mexico; a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Thursday with Pastor Joe Dillon officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to the Sandy Ridge Baptist Church Building Fund, 1444 Bonbrook Mill Road, Rocky Mount, Virginia 24151. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
