Ella Perdue Wheeler

Ella Perdue Wheeler, age 78 of Rocky Mount died Monday, February 7, 2011. She was born September 6, 1932 a daughter of the late William Taw and Hessie Joyce Perdue. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Avery Earl Wheeler; son, Douglas Hodges; brothers, Ed Perdue and Cam Perdue; and granddaughters, Missy Hodges and Penny Lyn. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Donnie Cundiff; son and daughter-in-law, Marvin and Kim Hodges of Hahira, GA; grandchildren, Julie Harrison, Johnny Hodges, Tammy Jean, Jennifer Williams, Brandon Hodges, and Paul Hodges of Denmark; great-grandchildren, Trey Harrison, Brooke Harrison, Conner Williams, Spencer Williams and Theodore Hodges; and brothers, Randolph Perdue and Billy Perdue of Michigan. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Friday with Pastor Ronald Coleman officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
