Ellis Calvin Davis

Ellis Calvin Davis, age 76 of Rocky Mount went peacefully to be with the Lord Wednesday, September 14, 2016. He was born October 20, 1939 a son of the late Eliza and Jessie Davis. He was also preceded in death by the mother of his children, Anita Christine Davis; son, Jason Davis; his beloved granddaughter, Cherokee "Stormy" Davis; and his best friend of many years, George Hayward Mattox. Surviving are his children, Matthew Davis (Julie), Mark Cramblitt (Stephanie), Carma Wright, Joey Cramblitt (Marcia); one very special daughter, Diana Hamilton (Scott); one special son, Joe Wooldridge (Cindy); sisters, Cecilia Talbott, Mary Davis; brother, Lynn Davis (Dixie); grandchildren, Jason Davis, Terry Cramblitt, Samantha Cramblitt, Kayla Swartz, Dakota Cramblitt, Riley and Kylie Hamilton; lots of great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter, Evelynn; numerous in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. The family would like to express a sincere thanks to the nursing staff at Salem VA Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at Flora Funeral Chapel with Pastor Bob Andrews officiating. Interment will follow in Antioch Church of the Brethren Cemetery with military honors. His family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Saturday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
