Elsie Lou McBride, age 91 of Rocky Mount went to Heaven on Sunday, July 6, 2008.
She was a loving wife, aunt and friend to all.
Lou was born on February 1, 1917 a daughter of the late B.J. and Lelia Hall and was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Durand McBride; special great-niece, Cynthia Hall; brothers, Euell, Albert and Fred; sisters, Effie, Lola, Violet and Verda.
Mrs. McBride is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Clara Hall, Bassett; her niece and caregiver, Arlene Hall, Rocky Mount; nieces and nephews, Cathy and George Wray, Roanoke, John and Dorothy Hodges, Glenva Hodges, Rocky Mount, Debra and Coy Gibson, Callaway, Ellis and Joan Bolling, Roanoke, Faye and Ted Turner, Betty and Billy Turner, Roger and Diane Hall and Sharon and Everette Lawson all of Bassett.
She is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, neighbors and her Redeeming Life Church family.
The family wishes to offer a special thanks to the Staff at Franklin Heath and Rehab for their special care.
Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2008 with Pastor Dave Smith, Rev. David Robertson, Dr. Jackie Spence and Pastor Travis Gore officiating.
Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
