Elsie H. Wade

Elsie Lee Holley Wade, age 84 of 39 Union Road, Ferrum passed away Sunday, December 14, 2014. She was born in Patrick County on July 10, 1930 to the late Oscar Nelus Holley and Sarah Adkins Holley. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Simeon Carter (Sim) Wade; one sister, Mary H. Hale Wright; three brothers, Odell Holley, Jesse Holley and Charlie Holley. Surviving are her daughter, Maggie Jane Wade of the home; son, Lawrence Wade of Ferrum; three sisters, Annie Mae (Ann) Holley of Rocky Mount, Pauline H. Haskins of Chatham, Rosie H. Willard of Stuart; several nieces and nephews. She and her husband formerly owned and operated Wades Grocery in Ferrum for more than 30 years. She was of the Brethren faith. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Wednesday with Pastor Greg Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
