Elwood Jones

Nelson Elwood Jones, age 73 of Rocky Mount died Saturday, November 22, 2014. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Jones; and parents, Nelson and Virginia Jones. Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Gerry Williams; grandchildren, Kealey and Hayden Williams; brothers and sisters, Carol and Dee Jones, Pete and Rhonda Jones, Mike Jones, Mark and Sue Jones, Elaine and Ivan Overstreet, Margie and Johnny Ellis, Diana and Danny Horn; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mike and Brenda Lynch, John Willford; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Rodger and Dot Leonard. Elwood was a United States Army Veteran and worked at Valley Marine for many years. He enjoyed NASCAR. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 11 a.m. Tuesday with Pastor Joe Dillon officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
