Emmett C. Russell, Jr.

Emmett C. Russell, Jr. age 73 of Glade Hill passed away Saturday, October 22, 2011. Emmett worked at General Electric for 26 years as a Quality Engineer in Auburn, New York and later transferred to the Lynchburg, VA facility. He was also an active member of the Burnt Chimney Ruritan club. He was born December 25, 1937 a son of the late Emmett, Sr. and Mary Russell. Surviving are his wife, Alma Russell; his children, Rick Russell, Randy Russell, Rusty Russell, Judy Vaughan and Kim Clark; daughters-in-law and sons-in-law; and many grandchildren; sisters, Marion Campbell and Doris Crouch; brother, Stewart Russell. Funeral services will be conducted from Burnt Chimney United Methodist Church 11:00 a.m. Wednesday with Pastor Matthew Ricks and Rev. Dr. Burton White officiating. His family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Burnt Chimney United Methodist Church. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount - Smith Mountain Lake.
