Emory Jefferson (Jeff) Winesett, 79, was reunited in Heaven with his father and mother, Donald and Rose Winesett, and his brother Dr. Preston Steve Winesett on November 24, 2021.
Jeff was a quiet, humble, peaceful person who loved the natural world, mountains, rocks, biking, fishing and all God’s animals (especially yellow cats). He was an avid fisherman, pool player, and guitarist. He was a graduate of Franklin County High School and Virginia Tech with a degree in Forestry.
He is survived by the love of his life, Sybil Brammer Winesett. Their love for each other was deep, enduring and faithful to the last breath. They promised each other “til death do us part” 46 years ago and that promise was kept.
After much prayer, their lives were blessed with 2 miracles, Jonathan Mark Winesett and Rebecca Winesett Furrow. As time passed Wes Furrow joined our family as a much loved son-in-law. Soon precious grandchildren were born. Every day Jeff would say, “I can’t believe we have 5 grandbabies,” Zackory Winesett, Adam, Levi, Ainsley, and Evie Furrow. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Susie and Joe Dougherty and sister-in-law Peggy Winesett, sister and brother in law, Donald and Carolyn Lee, and many precious nieces and nephews.
Due to severe food allergies, the family respectfully requests no food. In lieu of flowers, and realizing Jeff’s love for cats and dogs, anyone so desiring can consider a donation to the Franklin County Humane Society, P. O. Box 2118, Rocky Mount, Virginia 24151.
Funeral Services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at 2:00.
There will be a one hour visitation prior the service. Interment will be at Story Creek Baptist Church where Jeff and Sybil were married.
Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
