English Anderson Skidmore

English Anderson Skidmore, a retired GM employee died Monday, May 2, 2016. Mr. Skidmore was born in Frenchburg, KY on January 27, 1921. He was a veteran of WWII, a member of American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Masonic Lodge, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, and Syrian Temple. He was discharged for the U.S. Air force Regional Medical Center as a Sergeant in February 20, 1946. He was awarded the American Theater ribbon, European-African-Middle Eastern ribbon, Victory Medal of WWII and Good Conduct medal. He was an avid fisherman-sportsman. He married Ollie Peal Montgomery on July 16, 1949. He lived in Middletown, OH until retirement. He retired from GM-Fisher Body in Hamilton, OH after 30 years. He retired to Melbourne, FL; residing in FL until 2005. Due to health problems, residence was then in Rocky Mount, VA with a daughter. He was a member of Franklin Heights Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pearl Mae (Robinson) and Roscoe Conklin Skidmore; brother, Earl Skidmore; daughter, June Antrican; and son, Dale Anderson Skidmore. He is survived by his wife, Ollie Skidmore; daughter Jean C. Boone; daughter-in-law, Robin Skidmore of Jupiter, FL; grandsons, Tony Boone (Melissa) of Columbus, OH, Todd Boone (Carman) Rocky Mount, VA; granddaughters, Trenda Boone of Charlotte, NC, Tama Rios (Jesse) of Ceres, CA and Yvonne Myers of Trenton, OH. seven great-granddaughters; four great-grandsons; five great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Rebecca Powers; brother-in-law, Carl Montgomery; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at Franklin Heights Baptist Church 2 p.m. Thursday with Rev. Mark Griffith officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Franklin Heights Baptist Church. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
