Ernest Junior Walker

Ernest Junior Walker, age 71 of Roanoke went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, after a battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Walker, mother, Mary Simmons; and sister, Frances Hambrick. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Linda Hartman Walker; son, Ernest “Billy” Walker; daughters, Julie (Brian) Hick, Jennifer (Mark) Vincent, Amanda Walker; sisters, Louise (Dennis) Myers, Sandra Atkins; brothers, Don (Mary) Walker, Wayne (Debbie) Walker, Phillip (Christy) Walker, Ronnie Walker and Wallace Walker; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; special nieces and nephews. He served proudly in the United States Army from 1966-1968 and was the former owner of Walker Fence Company for 30 years. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 10:00 a.m. Friday with Rev. Roy Kanode officiating. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. in Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin (with honors). His family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
