Estelle Jones

Estelle Jones, age 95, passed away Sunday, September 10, 2017. She was born January 11, 1922, a daughter of the late Aldine and Pearl Jones. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Ishmael, Rudolph and Stafford Jones, sisters, Ina Messsenger, Juanita Howell, and Christine Jones. Surviving are one sister, Geraldine Smith of Roanoke and one sister- in-law, Patricia Jones of Henry. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and friends. Estelle attended St. Peters Mission School in Callaway and was a l940 graduate of Callaway High School. She retired from Eli Lilly Company in the 1980s and was a trained beautician and kept her license current until she entered Fork Mountain Rest Home. The family expresses their appreciation to the members and friends for the care and concern shown to Estelle. Also to Sarah Campbell and the staff of Fork Mountain Rest Home. Estelle will be remembered as always helping people and there when they needed her. She had a servants heart and always put others first. In lieu of flowers, her family suggest make donations to St. Peters Episcopal Church. Funeral services will be conducted at St. Peters Episcopal Church, 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 13, 2017 with Rev. John Heck officiating. Interment will follow in Pigg River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Her family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
