Ethel Edwards Bowling, 95, of Ferrum, passed away Monday April 9, 2007.
Mrs. Edwards was a member of St. James United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital and also a gifted artist as well.
She was born July 21, 1911 to the late James S. and Sarah Via Edwards. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Buel M. Bowling; one son Gary Bowling; brothers P.C., Claude, Elton, Leonard, Alvin, Leroy, Morris, Millard, Stuart, and Buel Edwards; and one sister Louvada Bryant.
Surviving are one son Larry Bowling; daughters and sons-in-law Bette and Robert Wilson, Deanne and Steve Lloyd, Dale and Donald Moore, Dawn Bowling; daughter-in-law Joyce Bowling; eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Ferrum Rescue Squad P.O. Box 160, Ferrum, VA 24088 or to the Ferrun Fire Department P.O. Box 69, Ferrum, VA 24088.
Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2:00 p.m. Thursday with Rev. Liz Lazenby officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park.
Her family will be receiving friend from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
