Eugene P. Field

Eugene “Gene” Parkinson Field, age 84 of Henry died Monday, October 18, 2010. He was born February 25, 1926 a son of the late Eugene and Eva Parkinson Field. He was also preceded in death by his son, James Edward Field. Gene was a member of Prillaman Baptist Church and a member of the Ford V8 Car Club. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II Battle of the Bulge and a double Purple Heart recipient. Surviving are his wife Alice Field; daughter, Darlene Moorhead of New York; grandchildren, Tina M. Field, Russell Hines, John “J.P.” Hines all of New York; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and other family members. Memorial services will be conducted from the Henry Community Center 2 p.m. Sunday, October 24, 2010. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Prillaman Baptist Church, 3480 Prillaman Switch Rd, Ferrum, VA 24088. There will be no visitation.
