Eva Sledd Ashworth

Eva Lenora Sledd Ashworth of Rocky Mount, Virginia and Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, died Sunday, August 6, 2017. She was born on March 13, 1919 and was 98 years old. She was the wife of the late Albert Ashworth; and the daughter of the late Eslie and Mary Sledd, all of the Callaway area. She was predeceased by brothers, Junior, Harry, Pete, Lloyd and Joe; and sisters, Ethel and Serena; and three baby sisters. She was also predeceased by a grandson, Neil Jones; and two great-grandsons, Jacob Lambert and Grayson Martin. Surviving are her daughters, Freda Wayland (Russell) of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and Arlene Jones (Robert) of Rocky Mount, Virginia; grandchildren, Coral McFall (Chris) of Charlotte, North Carolina, Samuel Wayland (Dawn) of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, Cristi Lambert (Dean) of Mt. Pleasant, North Carolina, and Tanya Martin (James) of Salem, Virginia; great-grandchildren, Adam and Ethan Lambert, Grant Martin, and Zoe McFall; sisters, Norma Jean Cootes of Florida and Cecile (Fred) Bussey of Rocky Mount; sisters-in-law Sevilla Bower, Mary Beeghly, Velma Meador and Armilla Ashworth, Janette Sledd, Joyce Sledd, and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Flora Funeral Chapel on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 2:00 with visitation one hour before services. Burial will be in the Antioch Church of the Brethren cemetery.
