Evelyn Estelle Pagans

Evelyn Estelle Swicegood Pagans, age 87 of Union Hall went to be with her Lord and love of her life on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at her home. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, Alfred; parents, Clarence and Thelma Swicegood; brothers and sisters, Leon, Joyce, Delores and Rowena. Surviving are her children, Pat Hamblett (Alton), Sandra Altice (Bob), Michael T. Pagans (Sylvia), Sheila Plyler (E. Derrick), Mark Pagans; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Charles Swicegood (Anna), Jack Swicegood (Ruth), Donna Gay, Elaine Swindal (David), Jerry Swicegood (Shirley); many nieces and nephews; special friends, James and Joyce Dellis, Thurman and Cindy LaPrade; and her loving canine companion, Oscar. Mom lived a full and happy life traveling with her siblings and Evangelist father where she met and married the love of her life in church. She enjoyed living and working on the family farm where she raised her five children. She was also a bus driver for over 20 years with Franklin County Public Schools. She loved her Lord and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel 2:00 p.m. Sunday with Rev. Charles Swicegood and Rev. Don Julian officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
