Ewell Daniel Dillon

Ewell Daniel Dillon, age 98 of Wirtz, VA. went peacefully home on Friday, June 16, 2017. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 73 years, Helen Ferguson Dillon; his parents, Swanson Dillon and Vicie Dillon; granddaughter, Lisa Daniels; grandsons, Jeff Cook, and Kenneth Cook; sister, Audrey Glass; brother, Phadgett Dillon. Daniel was a World War II Veteran. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Jimmy Woolwine; son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Jean Dillion; special granddaughter, Drema Davis and Billy Joe Chitwood; three step-grandchildren; four-great-grandchildren; five-great-great-grandchildren including a special great-great-grandson, Devin Jones; one great-great- great-granddaughter; sister, Evelyn Richards; sister-in-law, Lena Smith; nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Team Nurse, Amedisys Hospice; and caregivers, Pam Hedrick and Laura Saxton. Memorial services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Monday with Pastor Mike Finley officiating. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
