Ezra Lee Bowman

Ezra Lee Bowman, 84, of Rocky Mount, went to his eternal home on Sunday, December 10, 2017. He was a wonderful father and family man. He was the son of the late Roy and Susie Bowman. He was preceded in death by his wife, Susie Frances (Boone) Bowman; one sibling, Betty Jamison; one infant daughter, Gail Areda; another daughter, Janet Rose; and one grandson, Shaun Sisco. Surviving are five children and their spouses, Linda Bowman, Bill Bowman (Arlene), Ben Bowman (Kathy), Gladys Bowman, and Gloria Sisco; five siblings and their spouses, Rachel Jamison (Ellis), Orville Bowman, Dallas Bowman (Marilyn), Marvin Bowman (Lois), and Reva Hudson (Tommy); several grandchildren, Beth Bowman, Chris Bowman (Liz), Daphne Sisco-Wertz (Evan), Aaron Bowman, Ethan Bowman, Anna Bowman; two great grandchildren, Ian Wertz, and Rafael Bowman. Having been blessed to be part of a large family, he is also survived by many wonderful in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family is very thankful for the excellent care provided by caregivers Jane Skiles, Judy Hancock, Ann Hancock, Marion Austin and Brenda King as well as the teams from Friendship Home Care and Nexus Homecare. The family is also very thankful for the many family and friends who visited and encouraged dad over the many years. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 14, 2017, at Oak Hill Old German Baptist Brethren Church at 101 Elam Lane in Boones Mill, with The Home Brethren officiating. The burial will follow at the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Oak Hill Church Treasurer, 664 Red Valley Road, Boones Mill, VA 24065. The family will receive friends from 1:30-3:30 and 5:30-8:30 on Wednesday, December 13, 2017, at the church. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
