Fannie Jean Young

Fannie Jane Young, age 85 of Rocky Mount, VA, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 22, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, John & Vera Gardner; one sister, Jessie Mullins; four brothers, Jack Gardner, Ivan Gardner, Melvin Gardner and Terell Gardner. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a member of Fork Mountain Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Wayne Young; two sons and their wives, Leon and Dorenda Young, Dwight and Hope Young; two sisters-in-law, Leone Poff and Marie Gardner; two grandsons and their wives, Chad and Lauren Young, Chance and Mandi Young; one step-grandson and his wife, Bradley and Laurie Hodges; and five great-grandchildren. Special thanks to Franklin Healthcare of Rocky Mount, VA. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 25, 2015, at Flora Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Griffith officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.
