Faye Phyllis Clark Young

Faye Phyllis Clark Young, age 78 of Rocky Mount died Tuesday, July 26, 2011. She was born February 2, 1933 a daughter of the late Sidney L. and Lucy Payne Clark. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Kennis Young; daughter, Elizabeth Diane Young; three brothers, Richard, James “Jim”, and William “Bill” Clark; and sisters, Iva Cook, Viola Mae Lynch, Carrie E. LaPrade “Tootsie”. Surviving are her son, Dwayne (Martha) Young; two granddaughters, Shaunna Diane Young and Kristen Elsie Young; brother, Marvin L. (Joyce) Clark of Roanoke; sisters, Mildred “Polly” (Lloyd) Flora, Ada V. Hodges, Nancy Steele of Roanoke, Joyce J. (Armstead “Will”) Young; many nieces, nephews and friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Thursday with Pastor Ronald Coleman officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount and other times at the home of Dwayne and Martha Young, 676 Colonial Turnpike, Rocky Mount, Virginia 24151.
