Fletcher Richard (Ricky) Wilkerson, age 77 of Penhook died Sunday, March 2, 2008 at his home.
He was born November 18, 1930, a son of the late William James and Minnie Jane Wilkerson.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Donald R. Wilkerson; seven brothers; and five sisters.
Mr. Wilkerson is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Rebecca Ann Wilkerson; daughter and son-in-law, Pamela G. and David A. Gaylor, Sr.; sons and daughters-in-law, Gerald R. Wilkerson, Ronald V. and Havela Wilkerson, Garry W. Wilkerson and Kathy, Richard Eugene Wilkerson; one sister, Earlyne Marsh.
He is also survived by a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and many special friends.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to Carilion Hospice of Franklin County, all of the nurses and doctors at the hospital and home health. Also a special thanks to his health team nurse, Lisa Hall.
Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2008 with Pastor Rick Poland and Dr. Paul Stone officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
