Florence Reynolds Wright

Florence Reynolds Wright went to her eternal home to be in the presence of her Savior, Jesus Christ on Wednesday, May 13, 2026. She was born August 5, 1934 and lived to see 91 years on this earth with her family, friends and Church Family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Buford 'Tucker' Wright; her grandchild, Crystal Jeanette Wright; her parents, William Goggin and Nannie Rice Reynolds. She was also preceded in death by her six brothers, William, Nelson, Anderson, Levi, Hollace and Robert Reynolds; and three sisters, Annie Martin, Bessie Stegall and Little Sister.

Florence is survived by her son, William Allen Wright; her daughter, Kathy Wright Overstreet and son-in-law Euell Overstreet; her grandchildren, Valerie O. (Gus) Vides, Suzanne O. (Ray) Davis and David Wright. She has three great-grandchildren, Crystal Wright, Samantha Vides and Percy Vides. Also surviving are a special niece and caregiver, Brenda Wheaton and other numerous nieces and nephews.

Florence was a member of Boones Chapel Church for over 75 years. She served as Sunday School Teacher, Youth Leader and Church Treasurer over the years. She was active in the Church Women's Fellowship, Snow Creek Community Fellowship, Church Choir and loved attending Church functions. She was known at Boones Chapel Church for her Chocolate Pies and Pudding. Until the last year of her life, Florence was part of the Adult Sunday School Class, Sunday Worship Service and Monday Night Bible Study. She will be missed by her Church Family that she loved and cared about.

Florence Wright’s funeral will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 23, 2026 at Boones Chapel Church with visitation one and a half hour before the funeral. Pastor Mike Gallimore, Pastor Brandon Johnson and Dr. J.D. Harmon will be conducting her funeral. A fellowship meal will follow the burial service at Boones Chapel Church. Her interment will be in the Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorials be made to Boones Chapel Church in care of Jeremy Adkins 16405 Snow Creek Road, Penhook, Virginia 24137.
