Flossie Jones Flippin

Flossie Jones Flippin born July 15, 1932, in Rocky Mount to the late Alfred and Stella Hall Jones, went to meet the Lord on March 3, 2010. Flossie was a loving wife, daughter, sister and mother. She is preceded in death by her husband, William “Flip” Flippin. Surviving are her 4 children, daughter Gwendolyn Gaye Brown, son and daughter-in-law Michael Dean and Rebecca B. Bolling, daughter and son-in-law Kathryn Joyce and Tony Bernard, son and daughter-in-law Basil Guy and Rebecca R. Bolling. Also surviving are brothers and sisters-in-law; Bobby and Phyllis Jones, John “Fuzz” and Gladys Jones, James and Joyce Jones, Aubrey “Ben” Jones. Sisters and brothers-in-law, Audrey and Lawrence Hairfield, Alice and Billy Yopp and Arlean Jones, one paternal aunt, Mrs. Ella Hickman; and one maternal uncle and aunt Alfred and Bertie Mae Hall, 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews, also survived by her two special little dogs, Benjie and Brandy. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday March 5, 2010 at Flora Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bill Doss officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will be receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Flora Funeral & Cremation Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
