Flossie Rigney

Flossie H. Rigney, 101 ½ years of Rocky Mount, Va. passed away September, 17, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, Orvid Haynes and Josephine Amos Haynes; her husband, Luther (Timmie) Rigney; son, David Wayne Rigney; sisters, Leware, Agnes, Alta; brothers, Daniel and Alley Haynes. She is survived by two daughters, Jeanette (Glenn) Wimmer of Rocky Mount, Va., Dale Maxwell of Cayce, SC; grandchildren, Ken (Kathy) Shelhorse of Roanoke, Va., Kristina Caldwell of Brooks, GA; two great-grandchildren, Alex and Sarah Jordon Caldwell of Brooks, GA; step-grandchildren, Darrell and Eddie Wimmer, Blake Chitwood. She loved flowers, quilting, and needle work and received many compliments on her flowers and quilts. Her family wishes to thank Franklin Health Care, her Doctors and caregivers for their help during the last six months. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 1 p.m. Sunday with Pastor Joe Dillon officiating. Interment will be in Danville Memorial Gardens. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Arthritis Foundation. Her family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Saturday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount and other times at the home, 101 Shady Lane, Rocky Mount.
