Floyd Nelson Bailey, Jr., 74, of Wirtz, Virginia died on March 5, 2018 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, after a brief illness. He was born February 23, 1944 in Roanoke, Virginia to Elvie and Floyd N. Bailey. Nelson graduated from Cave Spring High School in 1962. After he received an Associate Degree from Roanoke College, he went to work for the Eaton Corporation. After Eaton closed in 1985, Nelson opened his own business, Eurosport, in Rocky Mount, Virginia. His passion was rebuilding BMW’s for his customers. Nelson is survived by various cousins including Stephanie (Bussey) Patton of Memphis, Tennessee and Robert A. Cheatham of Summerville, South Carolina. Many friends and colleagues also survive Nelson. A graveside service will be conducted on Thursday at 3 p.m. at Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association. His family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center in Rocky Mount.
