Floyd Allen Wilcox

Floyd Allen Wilcox, age 95 of Franklin County died on Wednesday, September 11, 2019. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Wilcox and mother, Mildred Allen Wilcox of Rochester, NY. He is survived by his wife, B. Wilcox; daughters, Wendy Wilcox Reed (Martin Erlandson) of Ingleside, IL, Gayle Wilcox Vicicondi of Ingleside, IL and son, Allen Wilcox (Stacey Fox) of Antioch, IL; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Mr. Wilcox was a World War II and D-Day veteran in the United States Army serving from 1942-1945. He attended various design schools and was a freelance designer for Singer Company, Western Stickley, and was Director of Design at Bassett Furniture from 1970 until his retirement. He enjoyed golf, woodworking, poker, boating and fishing. In lieu of flowers please consider memorials to a charity of your choice. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Flora Funeral Chapel with Chaplain Rick Poland officiating. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Private inurnment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
