Frances M. Jamison, 87, of Boones Mill, Virginia passed away Monday morning October 11, 2010 at her home surrounded by her husband and children. She was born September 19, 1923 in Clemmons, North Carolina. She was a member of the Old German Baptist Brethren Church and a faithful witness in her church and the community. She will be remembered for her meek and quiet spirit and her willingness to help those in need. Surviving are her devoted husband of 62 years, Vernon Jamison and her six daughters, Doris and Ronnie Filbrun, Pendleton, Indiana, Nancy Jamison, Boones Mill, Virginia, Karen and Alvin King, Elida Ohio, Edna and Carlton Brubaker, Boones Mill, Virginia, Elsie and Kent Garber of New Paris, Ohio, Pauline and Melvin Ronk of Roanoke, Virginia; 19 grandchildren; four step grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 14 step – great-grandchildren; a very special brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Hazel Beckner; a loving sister, Mary Bayer and sister-in-law, Rachel Beckner. Also, surviving are her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Jamison, Joel and Fannie Jamison, Nannie Austin, Levi and Annie Bowman, Fannie Brunk, Ellis and Rachel Jamison, Marvin and Bertha Mae Brubaker. Preceding her in death were her infant twin sons, Lynn Samuel and Glenn Henry; two grandsons, Seth Leon Brubaker and Kent Eugene Brubaker; one great-grand-daughter, Mollie Filbrun; her parents, Clyde and Maggie Beckner; one brother, Lewis Beckner; six brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law, Emory Jamison, Lloyd and Betty Jamison, Charlie Austin, John Brunk, Eldon Wolf and David Bayer. Funeral services will be conducted from Mountain View Old German Baptist Brethren Church 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 15, 2010 with the Home Brethren officiating. Interment will follow in church cemetery. Please omit flowers and consider Good Samaritan Hospice, 2408 Electric Road, SW, Roanoke, VA 24018.(540-776-0198) for memorial donations. Her family extends special thanks to Ginny Weisz of Good Samaritan Hospice for her love and care. Her family will receive friends 6-9 pm Wednesday; 2-4 pm & 6-9 pm Thursday at the church. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount/Smith Mountain Lake.
