Frances Overfelt Keeney

Frances Overfelt Keeney, age 90 of Rocky Mount died Friday, July 5, 2013. She was born January 3, 1923, a daughter of the late Walter Madison and Lizzie Angell Overfelt and was also preceded in death by four siblings. Frances was a member of Gogginsville United Methodist Church. She loved experiencing life which showed in her art, love of nature and country. Beloved mother, grandmother and sister, she is survived by: two daughters and a son-in-law, Elizabeth"Betty" Blue of Rocky Mount, Jacque and Gorman Morehead of Virginia Beach, grandchildren, Janine, Frances, Tripp and Johnathan, great- grandchildren, Ben, Kristen, Dodd, Madelyn, Skylar and Jack, great-great-grandchildren, Evelyn and Elizabeth, brothers, Garland and Walt M. Overfelt, sister, Mary Catherine McAden, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel, 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 8, 20l3 with Rev. Bradley S. Dulaney officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. The family suggests memorials be made to Gogginsville United Methodist Church. Her family will receive friends 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
