Frances R. Rapecis

Frances Elizabeth Rapecis, age 92 joined her beloved husband and daughter, Nancy, in eternal rest after passing away at her home in Ferrum, VA on Wednesday, March 19, 2014. Her cherished daughter, Claudia, was by her side. Frances was born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Delia and Lawrence Rogerson on June 9, 1921. She was united in marriage to Marin Rapecis on May 8, 1943. He preceded her in death 1977. Fran was a long time and devout member of the St. Rose Catholic Church in Massapequa, NY and the Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Rocky Mount, VA. As a beloved member of the church community, she could frequently be found helping with spaghetti dinners and volunteering at other events. She is survived by her daughter, Claudia Forbes; her two sons, Thomas and Robert Rapecis; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A mass of resurrection will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014, at Francis of Assisi Catholic Church with Father Mark White officiating. Brunch will be held at the church immediately following mass. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
