Frances Estelle Sledd

Frances Estelle Austin Sledd, age 70 of Rocky Mount died Saturday, August 9, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Vennie Myrtle Austin; and four siblings, Clinton Austin, James Stafford Austin, Lois Irene Austin, Adelle Woody (Jim). Surviving are her husband, James "Jimmy" Sledd; son, Randy Robertson; daughter-in-law, Christy Robertson; daughter, Lora Sink and husband Brad; grandchildren, Randi Robertson, Nikki Mantei, Eli Sink and girlfriend, Hali Moore; brothers, Larry Austin (Dreama), James Austin "Shorty", Rodger Austin (Charlotte); sisters, Shirley Franklin, Glenda Peters (Eddie); mother-in-law, Helen Sledd; sister-in-law, Joyce Greer (Roy); and special friend, Mary Thurman. Graveside services will be held at the Jones Family Cemetery (beside Fairview Church of the Brethren) 11 a.m. Thursday with Rev. Eddie Peters and Chaplain Rick Poland officiating. Special thanks to Carilion Hospice of Franklin County especially Kitty Ruby and Joe Grisetti for their care and concern. There will be a private family visitation from 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. prior to the service on Thursday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
