Frank Alan Guler of Glade Hill passed away Sunday, December 9, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born November 16, 1950 in Rockford, Illinois, a son of the late Frank P. and Lucille M. Guler.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy where he served in Vietnam.
Frank was a passionate runner. His first marathon was 2001 in Washington, D.C. His last two marathons were in 2006…Boston and New York. Frank was also a friend of Bill W.
He is survived by his wife, Temple Guler of the home; his son, Timothy Guler (Julie); five grandchildren, Felicity, Jonathan, Dakota, Corrina and Daffney; a brother, John Guler; raised by Mary Lou Guler Harms; one niece, Wendy Guler; and one nephew, John R. Guler (Lucinda), all of Rockford, Illinois; special friends, his co-runners and Gail (Rachel) Henry.
A mass of Christian burial will be conducted from Francis of Assisi Catholic Church 12:00 noon Thursday, December 13, 2007 with Rev. Nixon Negparanon officiating. Inurnment will be conducted at Willwood Burial Park, Rockford, Illinois at a later date.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
