Where to begin? We never, in our wildest dreams, thought we'd be writing this. At the very young age of 59, we lost our dad Frank Remmert. We didn't believe it at first and kept saying "it's not true" or "no" over and over again. For those of you that knew our dad, you knew he loved his girls more than anything. And while he had a hard time expressing it, we knew he did. He's had his ups and downs like every human being and while most will simply move on, he is a part of us and will always be remembered. He wanted/wished for many things. They were simple things: living with his girls, seeing his grandkids grow, seeing the world with us and enjoy all the food it had to offer. Simple. The grief is something that has to take its course and we accept those emotions with open arms. It's Numbing. Overwhelming. Exhausting. All-encompassing; but at least we're alive to feel them. We'll never get to hear his voice again. See his face in person. Hear him say "hi baby". Or have a family vacation where we could take him away from his reality, if only for a little while. An obituary is supposed to tell you who he was and what he left behind. But we weren't done with him yet. He wanted to retire in a few years and spend his time left with his girls and grandchildren. He had so much life left to live and it hurts so much that we won't have that. If we were to ask anything of anyone, it would be to take a few minutes out of your day, any day, and simply remember him the way you knew him. We loved him and miss him. And while we selfishly want him back, we know he is no longer suffering. He is survived by his wife, Joni A Remmert; his sister, Ann Remmert; his three daughters, Tiffani Furrow (spouse Shawn) (granddaughters Emily and Isla) Jeanette Balderston (spouse James) (grandkids Levi, Deirdre, Nicole, and David) Francheska Janosik (spouse Cody) (grand fur babies Watson and Rustee). A memorial visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, April 19th, 2024 at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
