Fred Berlin Altice, Sr. age 78 of Union Hall died Thursday, February 3, 2005 in a Roanoke hospital. Mr. Altice was a loving husband and father.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cabel and Alice Altice; one brother, Posey Altice; and one sister, Nellie York.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Nancy Berger Altice; four sons and daughters-in-law, Fred B., Jr. and Linda Altice, Danville, Jerry and June Altice, Union Hall, Dana and Deanna Altice, Snow Creek, Sammy and Marcie Altice, Rocky Mount; two daughters, Bonnie Hubbard, Glade Hill, Tami Campbell and fiancée, Joey Woody, Rocky Mount; 8 grandchildren, Chris Altice, Brian McBride, Jason Altice, Josh Altice and Anissa, Mandy Altice, Brandon Altice, Anthony Meeks, Miranda Altice; 2 great-grandchildren, Kennedy and Liberty McBride; one brother and sister-in-law, Henry and Christine Altice; two sisters and brother-in-law, Delma Law, Bernice (Tootie) and Wayne Meador; two sisters-in-law, Sue Berger and Elizabeth Altice; one brother-in-law, Harry Berger, Sr. and wife, Cora; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 11:00 a.m. Saturday with Rev. Bob Andrews and Rev. Bill Doss officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 9 E. Church Ave., Roanoke, VA 24011.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday with the family receiving friends from 6 – 8 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, 665 S. Main Street, Rocky Mount.
