G. Joseph Kidd, Jr.

G. Joseph "Joe" Kidd, Jr., age 75, of Roanoke, Virginia passed away on November 20, 2022 at Hermitage Roanoke.  Joe was born March 7, 1947 to the late Garland and Sally Kidd.  He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Gail Kidd; sister, Sue Carr; brother, Glenn Kidd and wife Betsy; daughter, Allison Kidd-Miller and husband Brad; son, David Kidd and wife Elizabeth; his 5 grandchildren, Caleb Kidd, Benjamin Miller, Isaac Kidd, Aubrey Kidd, and Amelia Kidd; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Joe loved interacting with people and enjoyed his work as an insurance agent.  Joe was a member of Cave Spring Baptist Church.  He enjoyed participating in the Roanoke Valley Volkswagen Club and following Virginia Tech football.  He and Gail made many new friends and learned much with the Roanoke Parkinson's Support Group of Virginia. The family thanks the staff at Hermitage Roanoke and Good Samaritan Hospice for the care given to Joe during his struggles with Parkinson's disease. The family will receive family and friends from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Cave Spring Baptist Church.  A service of worship and praise commemorating Joe will follow at 11 a.m.  The family will then proceed to a private family burial. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Roanoke Parkinson's Support Group of Virginia at P.O. Box 20543, Roanoke, VA  24018.
