Gail Belinda Rutrough, 66, of Ferrum, Virginia, after fighting a hard courageous battle with cancer passed away Sunday, April 16, 2023. She is suffering no more but instead celebrating in heaven with her grandchildren, Ryan William McGhee and Hope Leigh Newell. She is survived by her loving husband, Charlie Rutrough Jr.; her six children, Janie Adkins (Eugene), Charlotte Hall, Hollie McGhee (Matthew), Charlie Rutrough III, Connie Newell (John), and Bonnie Martin (Calvin). Also left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren, Rebecca Adkins, Justin Adkins (Sarah), Paris Hall, Ashlynn Hall, Andrew McGhee, Gatlin Patterson, Harleigh Patterson, Tristan Patterson, Kimber Patterson, Emily Cahill, and CJ Martin; and four great-grandchildren, Jayce Sturgill, Rowan Sturgill, Brayden Townsend, and Eliza Adkins. Gail was a loving wife, devoted mother, and doting Grandma. She was an avid crafter, who could always be found sewing whether on a yo-yo circle, a quilt for a loved one, or a requested project. Her greatest treasure of all was her family and even throughout her illness, she bragged upon them and selflessly put them first. A graveside service will be held at Pigg River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 20, 2023 with Elder Junior Conner officiating. Her family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
