Garland Lee Nichols

Garland Lee Nichols, age 66 of Bristol, VA passed away Sunday, June 19, 2011 at his home. He loved and enjoyed his family and his home. He also enjoyed playing tetris with a cigar in his sunroom. Garland had 20 years of service with Electrolux and 20 years with Universal Housing, Fleetwood Homes. He was preceded in death by his father, Levi Nichols; mother, Annie Nichols; sister, Joyce Stanley; and his brother, Buddy Nichols. Surviving are his loving wife of 48 years, Janice Nichols; two sons, Kevin and wife Rebecca, Scott and fiancé Jennifer and her two children, William and Chyanne; five grandchildren, Hannah Nichols of Madison, Alabama, Andrew and Kayla Nichols of Piney Flats, TN, and Zeva and Zevin Nichols of Kingsport, TN; two brothers, Gerald and wife Delores of Yorktown, VA, Roger and wife Debbie of Greenwood, IN. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 8 p.m. Wednesday. Interment will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Mountain View Memorial Park. His family will receive friends 7-8 p.m. prior to the service on Wednesday evening at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
