Gary Lynn Hodges

Gary Lynn Hodges passed away suddenly at his home in Rocky Mount on Wednesday, March 9th at the age of 55. Gary is predeceased by his brother, Cecil Hodges; his maternal grandparents, Woodrow and Dexie Altice; and his paternal grandparents, Muncie and Virgie Hodges. Gary is survived by his loving wife, Sharon of 36 years; his daughter Melissa Whitmire (Lynn); his beloved grandson, Dylan; his parents, Buck and Mavis Hodges; his sister, Penny Dudley (Bud); and numerous in-laws, relatives and friends. Gary was a tire builder at Yokohama for 24 years. He was a member of Oak Grove Church of the Brethren. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, The Dallas Cowboys, gardening, and spoiling his precious grandson. Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. Saturday at Flora Funeral Chapel with Pastor Richard Thomas and Rev. Bud Nichols officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Church of the Brethren Cemetery. His family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
