Gelene Mitchell Hudson, age 79, of Rocky Mount, went home to be with the Lord on August 8, 2007.
She was a daughter of the late Jasper Davis and Lois Cundiff Mitchell. She was an active member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Grace M. Bowles; brothers Howard, Dave, Robert and Clarence Mitchell.
Survivors include her son Stephen Kyle Campbell and Jennifer Turner; grandson Jonathan Campbell; sisters Catherine M. Bowles, and Annie M. Reynolds; one sister-in-law Margaret D. Mitchell; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family respectfully requests no food and that memorials be made to Mount Carmel Baptist Church, 1707 Mt. Carmel Rd., Rocky Mount, VA 24151.
Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2:00 p.m. Friday with Rev. Paul Stone officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.
Her family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service on Friday at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
