Geneva Elva Swanson Lumsden Dillon

Geneva Elva Swanson Lumsden Dillon, age 97, a native of Franklin County, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday, February 3, 2012. She was a great mother and grandmother and loved everyone she met. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Anna Hartman and Charles William Swanson; two husbands, Frank N. Lumsden and John Dillon; a sister-in-law, Eria Lumsden. She was a member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church for the past fifty years, and had a nursing career for thirty-one years. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Ruby and Donald Foster of Wirtz; two sons and daughters-in-law, Newton and Mary Lumsden of Roanoke, Roger and Carolyn Lumsden of Jacksonville, FL; four grandsons, Michael Foster, Curtis Lumsden, Douglas Lumsden all of Roanoke and Rick Foster of Wirtz; three step-granddaughters, Danna Duncan of Boones Mill, Tammy Cook of Ferrum, and Shelia Shipwash; one step- grandson, Everett William Lumsden of Jacksonville, FL; two great-granddaughters, Ashley and Summer Foster of Roanoke; two step great- grandsons, Roger Lee Duncan of Fayetteville, NC and Kris Black of Ferrum; two sisters-in-law, Mabel Swanson Lane of Roanoke and Daisy Lumsden of Detroit, MI; several nieces, nephews and a dear and special friend, Jean Grady of Roanoke. Special thanks to Beth and Fleming Collins for to their care and concern. Funeral services will be conducted 2 PM Sunday, February 5, 2012 at Flora Funeral Chapel with Pastor Rick Barton officiating. Interment will follow in Rehoboth Methodist Church Cemetery. The family request in lieu of flowers donations be made to Rehoboth Church. Her family will receive friends 6-8 PM Saturday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
