George Arnold Cooper "Pug"

George Arnold Cooper, “Pug” age 77 of Rocky Mount passed away Friday, August 2, 2024. He was born August 9, 1946 and married December 24, 1964 to Doreta Hodges. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doreta; son, Michael; parents, Andrew and Beck Cooper; brother, Lannie Cooper; and three sisters, Harriet, Dana and Amanda Cooper. Left to cherish many fond memories are his children, Steve and Angela Cooper, Rita and David Bower; five grandchildren, Josh Cooper, Tanner and Tearra Bower, Logan and Bethany Bower, Tristen and Wade Bowman, Laurie Bower; great-grandson, Callan Bower; sister-in-law, Juanita Cooper; brother, Rocky and Christine Cooper; special niece, Kacie Hodges; and two aunts, Virginia Hodges and Carolyn Lymanre. Pug dearly loved his family and was a very generous soul. His family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Saturday, August 3, 2024 at Flora Funeral Service. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Sunday, August 4, 2024 at Rocky Mount Community Church, 20 Highland Ave., Rocky Mount, VA 24151 with Pastor Gene Gillette presiding. Interment will follow in the Hodges Family Cemetery (Ashpone Tavern Road) with Pastor Randy Sawyers presiding. A meal will follow at the home of Pug Cooper.
