George Leo Elkins

George Leo (PAPA) Elkins, age 76 of Rocky Mount passed away Sunday, November 8, 2015. He was born August 2, 1939. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Frances Elkins and his parents, Rudolph Jeffrey Elkins and Ersell Virginia Miller. Surviving are his children, Connie Wright (Gary), Michael Elkins (Debbie), Donald Elkins (Cheryl), David Elkins (Bambi), and Randy Elkins, eleven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two brothers, five sisters, many special nieces, nephews and friends including a very special person Theodore Hodges. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at New Life Baptist Tabernacle (141 Lanahan Lane, Ferrum, VA 24088) with Pastor Marco Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Elkins Family Cemetery. His family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at New Life Baptist Tabernacle.
