George Henry Flora, Sr., age 90 of Boones Mill died Sunday, October 28, 2007.
He was preceded in death by one son Terry J. Flora.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years Violet Meeks Flora; one son George Henry Flora, Jr. and his wife Cathy; one daughter Sandra Flora Larsen and her husband Erik; his seven grandchildren, Regina Flora, Kasaundra Estes, George H. Flora III, David Sanders, Ben Sanders, Terry Sanders and Amy Sanders Cochran; ten great-grandchildren; his devoted special friends, Roseann Cusack and Nancy Underwood.
Mr. Flora was a decorated U.S. Army military veteran retiring in 1958 with 24 years of service. He moved to Boones Mill in 1958 and worked at General Electric and Ingersol-Rand.
Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 11 a.m. Wednesday with Mr. Roger Carter officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
